Glenys the Benefactor and Mike the Tour Guide - Liz

The peace walkers finally came to my part of the Central Coast. As a local I am reasonably familiar with the area and instead of leaving footprintsforpeace on the long and winding Old Pacific Highway to Mooney Mooney, we walked to Patonga where our wonderful and most reliable supporter and benefactor Glenys had organised a boat trip to Kangaroo Point for us.
Glenys had ensured us that Mike, our skipper, was very experienced. So no worries, not even for me, who is rather in the water than on the water. What she hadn’t told us was, that he also was a marvellous tour guide. From the start he pointed out landmarks like Lion Island, volunteered lots of information and took photo after photo of us walkers enjoying the trip across Brisbane Water glittering in the sunlight. As he approached the “Rusty Rocks”, he slowed down and even stopped for us to have a closer look at this interesting rock formation that had the best possible sunlight to show off in all its glory.

What we didn’t know before we stepped on the boat was, that Mike had just opened his own real estate agency in Mooney Mooney and he had taken time off work to meet our needs and provide the joy ride to us. We wish him all the best with his business venture and if you should need a real estate agent in the Mooney Mooney area, see Mike, he is simply the best and I’m sure he will be delighted to ferry you around to show you some of the spectacular water front properties on gorgeous Brisbane Water.

On the walk we have highly appreciated anyone’s support. The magic done by Glenys however was unique. She was just marvellous in her creativity, organisation and reliability. And she is a lady in her seventies! May she have many more healthy and active years!
