A good nights rest at the Bushlanders Motel, thanks so much to the owners, This morning Dave from Brisbane joined us and we set off at a great pace. Dave was enthralled at the beauty of the dawn and at our first stop Potts adjusted his backpack which made the rest of the day much easier. Bindi wasn’t too eager but as she warmed up trotted along at her usual pace.
Dave commented on the waves and honks we got from the passing traffic. Just as we stopped for the day, about 11am, Derec and his friends Lilly and Waie arrived and we sat under a tree and talked until John stopped to pick us up on his way back from a meeting in Taroom. John had offered the day before to take us back to his place for the night. This was about 30klms away, and then he would bring us back the next morning to continue the walk. It is unbelievable how far people go to support us. He quickly rang his wife Terese to let he know there would be 3 extra for lunch, which turned out to be a baked dinner complete with gravy, what a treat.!! Young Lilly was thrilled to be taken to see the pigs, John said he was sure if there had been a piglet she would have put it up her shirt and took it home. Mid afternoon Derec and the girls headed back to Brisbane and Potts, Terese and John went into church at Wandoan while I checked my emails (210 of them) made some phone calls and just had time for one blog before dinner and bed.
