Event Date:  Thursday, 30 August 2012 - 5:30pm

Be informed about and support people on the frontlines of climate change by coming to a film screening of:

'There Once Was An Island: Te Henua E Noho'

The film tells the story of the Polynesian community of Taku'u which is experiencing the devastating impacts of climate change first hand. It follows Teloo, Endar and Satty who take us on their personal journeys as they consider whether to move to an uncertain future in Bougainville or to stay on Taku'u and fight for a different, but equally uncertain, outcome.

Date: Thursday 30 August

Venue: Duhig Building, Social Sciences and Humanities Library, Level 1 conference room, University of Queensland.

Cost: $15 concession; $20 full

Finger food, tea and coffee provided

5.30pm for a 6.00pm start

This event is organised by Friends of Tulele Peisa, a Brisbane based group supporting the resettlement of the Carteret Islanders to mainland Bougainville, Papua New Guinea. Proceeds will help to complete the cost of an outboard motor and navigation equipment.
