If you want a peaceful and sustainable future, join the 5 women who are walking from Brisbane to Canberra on Saturday 13th March. The launch will start at 8am at Jagara Arts Centre, Musgrave Park Cultural Centre, 121 Cordelia Street, South Brisbane. There will be speeches, music, drama, folding of peace cranes and the women will be presented with a message stick from an indigenous representative to take to Canberra. After the formalities, we will have a morning tea and commence the walk to Canberra.
Your friends and family are welcome to join the women for the walk. You are welcome to walk up the street, walk for an hour, or walk longer. We will be stopping for lunch at Stones Corner and ceasing the first days walk at Holland Park. If you plan to spend the day with us, please bring a packed lunch with you. If you plan to stay overnight, bring your sleeping gear. Other information about the walk Currently there are 5 women who have committed to doing the whole walk. If you would like to join us on the walk you are very welcome. If you're planning to walk for more than a day, we would like you to complete a registration form that you will find on the website. If you would like to stay updated on the walk, we will be posting blogs on our website. We will also be videoing our adventure to create a doco, so if you would like to be a star, you need to join the walk. When the doco has been compiled, we will be inviting you to attend our first screening.
