Today was an unofficial rest day since we had managed to take a shortcut via the beach rather than the highway. It was also a Birthday for one of the walkers. This makes it that we now have 2 walkers in their sixties. Since we had the day off, we all arose later than normal and failed to provide the Birthday girl with her cup of tea in bed, as she packed her sleeping bag and folded the bed back into a couch before some of us emerged.
After having breakfast, our host, Rivka, shared with us a series of movements to assist us to align our chakras. We found this a powerful experience and were disappointed that she needed to depart when her client arrived for a massage.
Ahhhhh. Massage…I have been blessed to receive many on this walk. I am amazed about the power of touch, the power of healing, the power of love. All of which I have received on this walk. We relocated to Iluka and prepared for our next public event to share the reason for FootPrints For Peace. We were welcomed with music, singing and drumming as well as a feast of food. It was also the first event where we had soooo many children attend our event. The children all participated in making peace cranes, some of which turned into peace planes especially when we discovered that one of the women who organized the event was involved in the Ploughshares actions in the 1990’s. Well done Ania.
Tomorrow we will be enjoying an additional rest day where I am looking forward to a lovely day in the World Heritage National Park and my last dip in the ocean for a couple of weeks. My feet will also be enjoying the opportunity for a bit more recovery as my right foot has decided to complain about the km it has walked so far.
Love to you all, Cassie
