Derec and Potts drove out to meet me and cook breakfast at 8.30am and then stayed within site for the rest of the days distance, then we all drove back to the camp site stopping off at the local café for a very welcome thickshake and a chat with a few locals.  After lunch Derec caught up with his work phone calls, Potts posted on Facebook and I had a welcomed snooze along with Bindi. Adam suggested if we had time to visit Murphy’s Lake, a short drive out of Toroom.  What a wonderful treat, we eventually found it just before sunset and spent a pleasant hour watching the black swans and white pelicans on the lake and sat on fallen trees absorbing the quiet peaceful atmosphere .

Back in town we took the locals advice and went to the Wednesday nights diner and bowls event, forgoing the bowling part to go to bed early. I was in a deep sleep when I was awoke by thunder and very heavy rain (about 12.30) and a few minutes later my very wet tent collapsed,  I crawled out and went to Derecs car which he had left unlocked thankfully. I stripped of my wet clothes put on a dry tshirt that was in my waterproof stuff bag and eventually got comfortable enough to fall back to sleep for a couple of hours to be awoken by Derec opening the door to say it was 4am.  It turned out that both Derec and Potts tents had also filled with water, so it was a silent disgruntled group that packed up very wet geat into the car and headed out to my drop off point.
