I’m sorry it has taken so long to post. My excuse is my inability to conquer my smartphone, combined with only patchy internet and sheer exhaustion at the end of the day.
So the launch at QGC’s pipeline by Kumbarilla Lane was a great success. WinTV came to film it, and Bob Irwin, Drew Hutton, Piers Shapley, and other dignitaries were in attendance. It was a wonderful start to our project, but then because of our late start our walk became a very long 27 kms in the blazing heat of the day.
We just continued to walk down the road, which created a bit of commotion, but we made it through a-okay. Potts suggested we ask them if they wanted to join us for lunch, but we decided against it.
The policeman Jason from Tara who was at our launch then also joined us a couple of times through the day to check we were okay.
All in all it was a weary, happy, footsore crew who tumbled into the campsite by a creek that night. We had a quick one-pot hot pasta dinner, then tumbled into bed.
